III. COMMENTS - COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations <br />made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during <br />the inspection and the facts or evidence support~n9 the enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection conducted by Tom Kaldenbach of the Colorado Division of <br />Minerals and Geology. Rick Mills represented the operator. The weather was warm and dry. <br />The most recent rain fell a few days earlier. <br />SIGNS AND MARKERS <br />Permit boundary markers were properly displayed at several locations inspected along the <br />southern permit boundary. <br />ROADS <br />Road on ridge along southern permit boundary. This road is in good condition. Fallen <br />trees that blocked the road were moved out of the way at several locations during the <br />inspection. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE <br />Pond A discharge (NPDES 001). The flume was discharging less than 100 9pm of clear <br />water. The flume was ~n good shape. <br />FISH AND WILDLIFE <br />A badger was spotted near the mine office. Numerous deer, elk, and a few sharp-tailed <br />grouse were spotted while inspecting the southern permit boundary. <br />RFVFf,FTATTON <br />Grasses were browning up.
