III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include drscusswn of observaUOns made tlunng <br />the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the <br />facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a complete inspection conducted by Kent Gorham of the Colorado Division of <br />Minerals and Geology. The Rimrock Mine consists of approximately seven acres of <br />reclamation. The 2005 growing season will be the twelfth j12) growing season after reseeding. <br />The ground was soft and damp in places due to recent precipitation The weather on this day <br />was clear and cool. <br />Availability of Records <br />The public copy of the mine records is kept at the office of the Las Animas County Planner at <br />the county courthouse located in Trinidad. All required records were found current and in <br />compliance. The results of this records check can be found on page 2a of this report. <br />Hydrologic Balance <br />The sediment pond at the site <br />was dry. The embankment and <br />outlet pipe appeared normal ~ pond ~nie• <br />As shown in the photo to the _ <br />right. the pond inlet shows no ~' -- • b' <br />sign of erosion or rutting due to r <br />inflow. Some sprouting is beginning due to excellent winter <br />moisture and warming temperatures at this elevation. <br />Overall, the site appeared in good condition for the winter season. <br />
