The George Ansley Pit ie permitted for a disturbance of 2 acres. The site will be <br />reclaimed to rangeland. <br />2. The Ansley Pit consists of a 10-12' excavation into a hillside over a 2 acre area. The <br />pit appeared to be inactive for quite some time. According to annual reports the pit ie used <br />intermittently by the operator. <br />3. The pit aide elopes were steep, badly eroded, and will need to be stabilized. The <br />operator should regrade the aide elopes to a stable elope such ae a 2:1 or greater and seed <br />with either a temporary cover crop or the reclamation seed mix if mining in the pit has been <br />completed. All erosion appears to be contained within the permit area. <br />4. Dominant vegetation in the surrounding area was buffalograes and yellow eweetclover. <br />5. The Ansley Pit did not contain an entrance sign or markers to identify the permit <br />boundary.
