C~ <br />MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID rY M-95-075 <br />INSPECTION DATE 6(10/99 <br />INSPECTOR'S INITIALS RGO <br />The following problems IPBI and/or possible violations IPVI land suggested corrective actions) were identified during this <br />inspection. The problems should be corrected by the dates given, or they will become possible violations. The possible <br />violations should be corrected by the dates given to reduce their severity when considered by the Mined Land Reclamation <br />Board. The inspector noted on the previous page should be notified of all corrective actions taken. <br />PROBLEMS/POSSIBLE VIOLATIONS <br />AND <br />CORRECTIVE ACTIONS <br /> CORRECTION <br /> DATE <br />The excavation in the pit has intercepted seasonal groundwater, though the operation 8/10/9g <br />was approved only as a dry pit. <br /> PB or PV: PB <br />CORRECTIVE ACTION: TOPICISI: HB , <br />The operator must backfill a sufficient amount of material generated onsite to cover MP , , _ <br />the area of impounded water. The backfill depth must be at least sufficient to <br />eliminate the exposed water surface, but should be of a depth sufficient to allow the <br />storage of equipment or stockpiling of materials, as the approved reclamation plan <br />states, without instability or deterioration of the site. OR, <br />The operator must provide evidence of a commitment to pursue the approval from the <br />DWR to allow the (seasonal) impoundment of groundwater in the pit. This office <br />must receive copies of all relevant correspondence between the operator and DWR, <br />to document the prompt resolution of this matter. <br />Evidence of the completion of the backfillina OR the initiation of pursuing approval for <br />exposing groundwater must be received by the Division by the date shown at right... <br />2. There was an infestation of knapweed on the site, which is aState-listed noxious 8/10/99 <br />weed, which the landowner is required by law to control. <br />PB or PV: PB <br />CORRECTIVE ACTION: TOPICISI: RV <br />The operator must contact the appropriate agency office to assist in the formulation , _ <br />of a weed control plan, provide a copy of the plan to the Division, and begin the <br />implementation of the plan this year. <br />The operator must provide evidence to this Division of the weed control plan, by the <br />date shown at right...
