III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during the inspection. Comments in Section IV describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. Page 1/1 North Thompson Creek C-81-025 17 Nov 2004 This was a complete inspection of the North Thompson Creek Mine conducted by Jim of CDMG. The mine is reclaimed and in its period of extended liability. Most of the mine has gone through Phase III Bond Release. The weather was cool and partly cloudy and the ground was dry. Availability of records: All of the necessary records were available at the Gazfield County Courthouse in Glenwood Springs. See the records checklist at the end of this inspection for more details. Signs and Markers: The mine ID signs were posted and in good condition at the loadout and the mine site. Roads: The haul road and the road to the developed water resource were stable and in good condition at the time of the inspection. The access road to the flume sites was in good condition and stable. Hydrologic Balance: -The ditch from the dischazge of the portals to the Long Pond is in good condition and is flowing properly. The ditch was recently cleaned out. - The long Pond was well vegetated and stable at the time of the inspection. There were no erosional problems noted on the pond embankment. - Treatment Ponds T-1 and T-2 were well vegetated and stable at the time of the inspection. There were no erosional problems noted on either embankment. Pond T-2 was discharging to the North Thompson Creek. - Sediment pond (stock pond) P-9 contained a small amount of water but was not discharging. The pond embankment was well vegetated and stable and there were no erosional problems. Support Facilities: The loadout area east of the county road was well vegetated and in overall good condition. Revegetation/Beclamation Success: The flume areas by the developed water resource were well vegetated and stable at the time of the inspection. - The upper and lower flume sites on the Middle Thompson Creek were well vegetated and in good condition. There were no erosional problems at any of the flume sites.
