(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: nn_toR~_~nn
INSPECTION DATE: ~ 21a_m 1NSPECTOR~S INITIALS: ~B)~
OBSERVATIONS
The Division conducted a monitoring inspection of the site as part of sites to be inspected in fiscal year 2002-
2003. The site is a small 110-granite quarry, of four acres, located near the junction of the high park road and
Guffy Road in Teller County. Operator was contacted prior to the inspection, but was unable fo attend and
provided a key to the access gate. Operator should notify the landowner, about the fact that the Division has
the right to access the property and inspect the site as long as proper notice is given to the operator.
Landowner was very upset that he was not contacted and blocked the access with his track and had to be
appeased before he allowed the Division's representative to leave the site after the inspection.
The site is in an area where pre- law mining had taken place.
Inspected the main-pit area, it was walked and inspected. According to the operator's representative, when
contacted over the phone prior fo the inspection and while on site, stated that, the site is operated on, as need
bases. The high wall of the pit measures approximately 20 feet in height and was stable. A couple of large
boulders were noted in the middle of the pit, which indicated recent activity. Permit boundary markers, those
not utilizing the natural features and permit sign were properly displayed. The existing financial warranty of
$5,000 is adequate }o cover the existing disturbance. The operation appears to be in compliance with the
approved reclamation permit.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: BILL TEZAK
OPERATOR: COLORADO9(IARRIES
STREET: P n RC~X 1RA9
CITY/STATE/ZIP: calvnrvciTV c~Ri~i~
Harry Posey (e-mail)
cc: ^ CE
^ BL
^ FS
^ HW
^ HMWMD (CH)
^ SE
^ WQCD (CH)
^ OTHER
