The site is a
112-construction materials operation that has been inactive since 1994.
When the site was last inspected in 1999, the only activity was removal of
material from existing stockpiles. At that time the operator had planned to
submit an amendment to expand the permit area, but since then all the plans
to expand the permit have been put on hold. Present during this inspection
was Mr. BJ Fuller of Castle Concrete. The entire site was walked and
inspected, the two lakes side slopes were stable and no major sign of
erosion noted. A very large quantity of TUMBLE WEEDS WERE NOTED THROUGH OUT
THE PERMIT AREA. Mr. Fuller stated that the operator plans to construct a
fence around the entire area, so wind blown tumbleweeds will not end up in
their permit area. No noxious weed noted. The Division suggested that since
most of the stock piled material is now gone, and if the operator does not
plan to expand the permit area, to either start reclamation or submit an
application to change the mining status from active to temporary cessation.
Mr. Fuller agreed to look into it and discuss with his people and take the
appropriate course of action soon. No major problem noted.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Mr. B.J FULLER
OPERATOR: TRANSIT MIX
STREET: 444 F CC)STI I A
CITY/STATE/ZIP: C(~I (~RAI)n SPRINGS- Cn R0903
CC
Harry Posey (e-mail)
cc: r CE
r BL
t FS
I' H W
t HMWMD (CH)
t
r SE
t WQCD (CH)
1' OTHER
