E <br />III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the <br />inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection of the Carbon Junction Mine for the month of February, 1997. <br />All ditches and ponds were inspected and found to be in compliance, both ponds were covered <br />with snow but appeared to be dry and stable. All culverts were clear and capable of functioning <br />as designed. <br />Spoil material is no longer being deposited on the fill area and the site is ready for pond <br />construction to commence. <br />Enineering work on the redesign of the 100 year diversion is under review by the Division and <br />preliminary indications suggest that every thing is in order. <br />The gravel company is still operating but there is very little activity at this time of year. <br />Constrution of the golf course has temporarily been halted presumably because of the weather. <br />
