III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during
the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the
facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a complete inspection conducted by Tom Kaldenbach of CDMG. The Hawk's Nest Mine is a
revoked/forfeited mine permit that has been reclaimed since 1995, with additional reclamation work
since that time. A reduced inspection frequency of one complete and three partial inspections each
year recently became effective.
No one else was present during the inspection. The ground was covered with a foot of snow. No
changes were found on the site compazed to my previous inspection in September (others have
inspected the site since then).
Sins and Markers
No signs or markers are on this revoked site.
Roads
No roads exist on the site that are associated with the mine.
Hydroloeic Balance
The pond and ditches were reclaimed several years ago. Signs of accelerated erosion (e.g., gullies,
sediment fans) were not evident, although snow cover limited inspection.
General Mine Plan Comaliance
No problems were found at either the East or the West Mine.
Slides and Damaee
No slope instability was evident on the hil(slope along the north side of the road.
