,`
~rd:INE SID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-94-121
IIVSPECTION DATE 04/12/99
(Page 2)

INSPECTOR'S INITIALS ESC
This was an inspection of the Lucio Vasquez Quarry No. 2 conducted by Erica Crosby of the
Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology. Ignacio Vasquez, Jr. was present during the
inspection. Weather conditions on site were clear and warm. Ground conditions were dry. '
The mine site is located roughly 3.5 miles north of Lyons on North Stone Canyon Road. The
permit area is 9.9 acres in size, and the disturbed area is 7.4 acres. The permit boundary
was marked and a mine identification sign was posted.
The quarry was not being mined at the time of the inspection. Ignacio stated that mining
would start in mid-May. The site has been mined along a cliff that runs from the northern
portion of the site towards the southeast and southwest. The mined area is roughly 25 to 30
feet high and opens toward the canyon to the north. The overburden that is removed is placed
in the south portion of the site. All mining activity is within the permit boundary.
The reclamation plan states that there will be no backfilling into the excavation due to the
cliff. The cliff ledge will remain as part of the reclamation of the quarry. The Division
currently holds a certificate of deposit in the amount of $1,491.00. Mining has only
occurred along the cliff ledge, so the bond is an adequate at this point in time.
I & E Contact Address
I;IAME Ignacio Vasouez, Jr.
OPERATOR Noland Stone Co.
£;TREET P.O.
