Prior to the site inspection a brief discussion was
held regarding the TR that is going to be submitted to increase the area of
the pad {PHASE III) that was approved under Amendment # 7 but was reduced
in size due to shortage of clay liner. The operator wants to add this area,
which is less that an acre to the Phase III pads, while liner crew is on
site. The overall capacity of the pad will remain at 262 Million, as
approved in Amendment # 8. Therefore, there will be no additional warranty
needed to cover the cost of detoxification of the spent ore. After the
brief discussion, the area to be added to Phase III was looked at no
problem noted.
Inspected the Phase IVC leach pad expansion are, due to the rain the are
received the day before, only drain cover was being pushed at the time of
the inspection. For the week, approximately 210,000 square feet of liner
was deployed, according to Mark. This will leave approximately 550,000
square feet of liner to be deployed to complete Phase IVC. Golder QA/QC
were present overlooking the deployment.
Inspected the Phase I, II, III AND IV pregnant solution collection areas
and recorded the following readings from the high and Low volume solution
collection transducers.
Phase I High volume solution collection transducer # 1 was recorded at31,7
#2 was at35.2 and # III was at 34.7. Low volume # 1 was at.22 and # 2 was
at .40. Piezometer for the pond was at 36.0 FEET
PHASE II AND III High Volume solution collection transducer # 4 was at 30.5
# 5 was at 24.7 and # 6 was at 32,7. Low volume transducer # 1 was recorded
at .07 and # 2 was at .63. Piezometer was at 32.2 feet.
Phase IV High and Low Volume solution collection transducer # 7 was
recorded at 21.7 # 8 was at 21.5 # 9 was at 21.9 #10 was at 22.3. Low
volume solution collection transducer # 1 was recorded at 10.8 and # 2 was
at 9.0 inches of hydrostatic head. (ALL OTHER READINGS ARE IN FEET OF
HYDROSTATIC HEAD UNLESS NOTED)
Inspected the external pond, it was holding more water than observed last
week, reflective of the rain the area had received the past few days. While
in the are, collected the following readings from the Low volume solution
collection transducers. # 1 was at 11.6 and # 2 was at 9.0 inches of
hydrostatic head. Inspected the under drain area all three pipes were
discharging, no problem noted.
