III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the
inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
Portal:
Cover of the portals appears to be holding at this time. No indication of
settling at this time.
Lower Hubbard Creek:
The area appears to be heavily crusted due to the lack of topsoil and organic
matter. Although this area did not require the storage and replacement of
topsoil, effort needs to be taken to assure a good vegetative cover. Soil testing,
if not yet done, should be considered before seeding of final accepted seed mix.
Nutrients such as phosphate need to be incorporated into the soil to be most
effective.
Upper Hubbard Creek:
The sediment pond was dry.
Sanborn Creek Mine:
Weeds identified in the previous inspection have been sprayed and do not
appear to be a threat for spreading seed at this time.
Silt screens that were partially obstructed at the last inspection have been
cleaned and are fully functional at this time.
