MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: ~~-loon-~aa <br />INSPECTION DATE: 1,/4/n'~ INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: -Bl~_ <br />OBSERVATIONS <br />The Division conducted a monitoring and construction progress inspection of the Phase I, II, II! AND IV areas on <br />1-9-03. Present during the inspection were Mark Tidquaist and Tim Comer of CC&V. The inspection began <br />around the new storm wafer stock pond located in the Wild horse area. Pond area was walked and inspected <br />no major problem noted. Continued the inspection to the Iron Clad Globe Hill areas. The ponds for the <br />detoxified leach pads were holding some solution According to Tim; the addition of vegetation on the pads <br />should lower the nitrate as total (N}. Inspected the over burden storage areas. Brief discussion was held <br />regarding the maximum height of the over burden storage areas at the site. No major problem noted. Inspected <br />the main Cresson pit area, it was not active. However, the clay borrow area located West of the Cresson pit was <br />active, Continued the inspection to the Phase IV construction areas. The Phase IV construction areas were <br />viewed from the sub station area. Low volume collection gravel was being pushed on the primary finer of the <br />pregnant solution area, at the time of the inspection. GOLDERS 9A/61C personnel were present. According fo <br />Mark, a dozer operator while pushing low volume solution collection gravel, tore a portion of the liner. Liner will <br />be repaired in accordance with the approved specifications. <br />Back fill and grading work on Phase IV B AND C areas were also in progress. According to Mark, most of the <br />Under ground remediation work WAS ALSO PRGRESSING and should be completed for this construction season, <br />sometime in the next week or so. <br />Inspected the external pond, it was holding about the same amount of what appeared fo be frozen water. White <br />in the area, collected the following readings from the Low volume solution collection transducers. <br />Transducer # 1 was recorded at 13.7 inches and # 2 was at 15.4 inches of head. Water level was at 8.31 feet. NO <br />PROBLEM NOTED. <br />Inspected the Phase I AND II pregnant solution collection areas and recorded the following readings from the <br />High and Low volume solution collection transducers. <br />Phase I high Volume solution collection transducer # i was recorded at 30.7, # 2 was at 33.7 and # 3 was at 33.3 <br />LOw volume solution collet#on transducer # i was at.72 and # 2 was at .22 <br />Phase II high volume solution collection transducer # 4 was recorded at 25.4, # 5 was at 21.1 and # 6 was at 25.5 <br />Low volume solution collection transducer # 1 was recorded at ,56 and # 2 was at.21 (ALL READINGS <br />ARE IN FEET OF HYDROSTATIC HEAD) <br />Inspected the under drain area. Both the south under drain and the 4-inch pipe were discharging a trickle. No <br />problem noted. <br />After the inspection, a brief discussion about the pending Technical revisions was discussed with Phil Barnes, <br />manger, Environmental resources. CC&V plans to submit an increased aNected acreage TR, and the <br />appropriate warranty, for the South and East Cresson pits. In anticipation of such events, when the Board, <br />approved Amendment # 8 CC&V provided a generic plan showing aNected acreage in excess of 1800 acres, <br />The plan was to submit the actual affected acreages once the final mining plan configuration was established, <br />after exploration.
