(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: nn_iao~-n96-
INSPECTION DATE: n~+n~ar u, ~noa INSPECTOR^S INITIALS: _p, iw
pBSERVATIONS
This was a normal monitoring inspection conducted by Tony Waldron of DMG along with Wayne Pipkin of Sand
Creek Farms. The site is located approximately 7.5 miles north of Byers, Colorado and the pit is situated along a
small sandy tributary to West Bijou Creek and the surrounding land is either pasture or farmland.
The pit encompasses 44 acres and straddles both sides of the sand wash. The southeastern end has been
mined and is approximately 20 feet deep. The slopes along the south and east sides in this area have been re-
graded to approximately 3H:1 V and grass has either been planted or invaded along these slopes. The pit
bottom is relatively level and extends to the north where the most recent active area is located. The permit
boundaries were clearly marked and the identification sign was properly posted at the mine entrance. The sign
is somewhat faded and it was suggested that the operator may want to touch it up so that it is more readable.
The financial warranty for this site is $4,500.00 and is adequate to reclaim the existing disturbance. The mining
plan calls for mining in one acre increments and reclaiming contemporaneously. This appears to be occurring
as evidenced by the backfilling and sloping of the existing cuts. No problems were identified and this
concluded the inspection.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Wavne Piokin
OPERATOR: Sand Creek Farms.
