(Page 2)

MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-1992-016
INSPECTION DATE: April 18. 2001 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: AIW
OBSERVATIONS
This was a normal monitoring inspection conducted by Tony Waldron of DMG. The site is located approximately 5 miles east
of Florence, Colorado and just north and adjacent to Colorado Highway 120. The pit is situated around an old gravel terrace
that has been dissected to varying degrees by small drainages. As a result, the mining occurs in anon-uniform pattern as it
follows the gravel deposits. The total permitted area is approximately 236 acres with the affected area being no more than
approxlmately 100 acres.
The mine site was properly identified at the public entrance to the site and the permit boundary is clearly marked by the
presence of athree-strand livestock fence. Active mining is occurring on the site just to the east of the scale house and some
trucks were observed being loaded with material for transport off site. A fairly large area has been mined out and reclaimed.
The area immediately west of the scale house has been graded to slope gently to the west and had been both topsoiled and
seeded. A few seedlings of the companion crop of oats that was seeded with the reclamation seed mix were observed coming
up. No permanent grass seedlings were observed during this inspection. Several other areas had also been graded,
topsoiled, and seeded as well. Overall, the re-grading job was excellent and blended very well into the existing topography.
There is a domestic dwelling on the site and the re-grading around it was also excellent. Once the vegetation establishes ,this
site should blend well into the surrounding area. No problems were observed and this concluded the inspection.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Tom Smith
OPERATOR: Rockv Mountain Materials
STREET: 1910 Rand Avenue
CITY/STATE2IP: Colorado Sorin~s, CO 80906
cc: Jim Stevens-DMG
^ CE
^ BL
^ FS
^ HW
^ HMWMD (CH)
^ SE
^ WQCD (CH)
^ OTHER
