III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br />and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection of the Arness McGriffin Mine conducted by Tom Kaldenbach of the <br />Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology. <br />The permit for this mine was revoked more than 10 years ago. The site was reclaimed by IML in April <br />1990. <br />The ground was dry. <br />Roads <br />The site was accessible via the rough access road. The access road and adjacent hillslopes appear to <br />have had frequent 4-wheel drive traffic recently. The cable along the road was in good shape. <br />General Mine Plan Compliance <br />No problems were evident at the Arness-McGriffin site. <br />Revegetation <br />The former portal bench azea has fairly good grass cover. <br />
