(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-1990-057
INSPECTION DATE 08/06/07 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS ESC
OBSHRVATIONS
This was an inspection of the Hopemore and Leadville Mine conducted by Erica Crosby of the
Division of Minerals and Geology. Bert Tanin of Capital Gold Corp, was present during the
inspection.
No mining or milling was taking place during the inspection. The mine and mill have not
been in use for several years. Mr. Tanin stated that several loads of old mining
equipment and trash have been removed from the site. The shafts were locked to prevent
access to the mine.
The current operator is listed as Leadville Mining and Milling Corp. However, it appears
that Capital Gold Corporation has in interest in the site. If Leadville Mining and
Milling Corp. no longer has an interest in the mine and mill, then the permit will need to
be transferred. Successor of Operators and Transfer of Permit application forms can be
obtained from the Division's web page located at www.mining.state.co.us.
The site has not been active for quite some time, and appears to meet the definition of a
site that needs to be placed in temporary cessation (as required by Rule 1.13). The operator
stated that they are interested in possibly selling the property and transferring the permit.
Because the site has been inactive so many years, the operator will need to either initiate
reclamation or put the site in temporary cessation (unless the permit is transferred and
mining is initiated). Because the site has been inactive for so many years, the Division
will note this as a problem that requires abatement. See page 3 for further detail.
The Division currently holds a reclamation bond in the amount of $35,550.00. The Division
will recalculate the bond to determine if this amount is adequate to reclaim the site.
Notice of any increase to the bond will be submitted under separate cover.
I & R Contact Address
NAME Mr. Scott Hazlitt
OPERATOR Leadville Mining & Milling Corp.
STREET P.O.
