. -.
III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during
the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the
facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
flood irrigation. Sub-irrigation appears to be limited to small, isolated low spots or the narrow strip
immediately adjacent to the channel. In most areas the channel is deeply incised. The unconsolidated
material along the narrow, relatively steep "valley bottom" of the West Fork, appears to be dominated by
colluvial outwash from the steep south facing slopes, with significant alluvial fan deposits at the mouths of
the two primary ephemeral drainages that enter the West Fork from the north. There is a relatively lush
growth of native grass, dominated by basin wildrye, on both the colluvial deposits along the toe of the
steep hillslopes and on the alluvial fan deposits. Grass production in these locations is likely enhanced by
deep snow accumulation along the narrow valley, and additional moisture provided from runoff from the
steep north facing slopes and occasional flooding out of the ephemeral tributary drainages.
5
