III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection <br />and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action <br />This was a partial inspection conducted by Kent Gorham of the Colorado Division of Minerals <br />and Geology (Division). This former underground mine is reclaimed. Remaining buildings <br />and structures are approved to remain as permanent features. The applicant has submitted <br />documents to the Division recently requesting final bond release for the site. Ground <br />conditions on this day were dry and the weather was seasonable. <br />Hydrologic Balance <br />Section C of ditch WD-1 has been <br />regraded and eliminated as shown <br />at right in the photo. The upper <br />section of ditch WD-3 has been <br />eliminated and the natural drainage <br />restored at this location. The culvert <br />and flex tubing at the lower section <br />of ditch WD-3 has also been <br />eliminated. These ditches and <br />culverts are shown on Map 12. Mine <br />Site Wafer Systems and Refuse <br />Area of the currently approved <br />permit. <br />Equipment remains at the site for final removal of clean water diversions structures as per <br />the approved plan. Rock check dams were noted in ditch PM-5 as approved- Riprap has <br />been added in the lower section of ditch WD-4 at the former location of a culvert and section <br />of flex tubing <br />
