MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: nn-i 9ft7-n9~
INSPECTION DATE: 11J?in6 INSPECTORS INITIALS: KAP
OBSERVATIONS
This inspection was performed as part of the Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety's four-year
monitoring program and as apre-operational inspection for a conversion application deemed
complete on October 30, 2006. Present at the inspection were Kate Pickford, DMG, and Bob Lucero,
Conejos County. Weather at the time of the inspection was clear, calm, and approximately 70
degrees.
2. A sign is posted at the entrance to the site and the boundaries are easily identifiable in the field. The
disturbance at this site consists of a large pit covering most of the permitted site, approximately 15 feet
deep. The highwalls are graded to 3:1 slopes.
3. The conversion would expand the site to the south and to the west of the existing permit. The area of
the proposed expansion is currently undisturbed. Mr. Lucero stated that the county plans to topsoil the
east and north slopes soon. No topsoil is stored onsite, but is stored at the county yard 10 miles from the
site, due to the threat of theft of the material.
4. Current activity at the site appears to be within the parameters of the approved permit. Review of the
conversion application will continue at the Division and the operator will be notified if there are any
adequacy issues related to the review.
I & E Contact Address
NAME:
OPERATOR: Coneios County
STREET: hhftft C'ni inty Rri 1 ft
CITY/STATE/ZIP: Cnnajnc C(~ ft1199
Cc: ^ CE
^ BL
^ FS
^ HW
^ HMWMD (CH)
^ SE
^ WOCD (CH)
X Other:
