III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection
and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action
This was a partial inspection conducted by Kent Gorham of the Colorado Division of Minerals
and Geology (DMG). This mine has closed and reclamation of most areas is complete
Ground conditions were dry and the weather was hot.
Roads
The road appears to have been bladed recently. Water bars are much smoother for
passage in a vehicle. The road surface was dry and free of ruts or damage.
Hydrologic Balance
The two remaining sediment ponds were both observed dry. The success of revegetation
efforts reduces runoff due to infiltration and utilization by the plants during the growing
season. Pond embankments are well vegetated and appeared stable.
" _"."'
-•-~ _ ti
_ ~..
- - ~ _ ~.K•1- ..
*'.
y '~
•~ ..
_.:
~,
;•
t,' _'
1.. f ,. ~. .,1 1 tii dyq'`` 1 j,1 ~ ri 1 ~l 1 y_~ ~rl,i ~.1~ ~ `.
I 1~, F'li ~F ~11 1 y~~`~ ~ ~/'~t ~ i7l ~r ~a rl l ~~~ ~r ' ~ '~
y~ ~ ,
Pond 4, Refuse Disposal Area.
