III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Deserado C-1981-018 <br />21 June 2007 ~~ <br />Page 3/3 <br />Support Facilities (cont.): -The slot storage building and pad area were stable and <br />well maintained at the time of the inspection. No erosional problems were noted on <br />the pad or outslopes of the embankment at the time of the inspection. <br />-The prep plant bench was stable at the time of the inspection. No erosional <br />problems were noted. <br />-The B-Vent Shaff, WMVS and RS # 3 pads were all stable at the time of the inspection. <br />No problems were noted on any of the pads. <br />-The water tank bench was stable at the time of the inspection. <br />-The operator has finished most of the work at RDH-3 with the exception of the rock <br />dust tank itself. The pad had been constructed and the concrete pad has been <br />poured. The pad was stable at the time of the inspection. <br />Topsoil: -The topsoil piles by RP-2/3/4 and 5a were well vegetated and appeared to <br />be stable at the time of the inspection. No erosional problems were noted on the <br />piles. <br />-The topsoil piles below the loadout were well vegetated and appeared to be stable <br />at the time of the inspection. No erosional problems were noted on the piles. <br />- The subsoil piles by refuse piles RP-2/3/4 and 5a were all well vegetated and <br />appeared stable at the time of the inspection. No erosional problems were noted on <br />the piles. <br />Backfilling and Grading: -The regraded pad for RDH-1 was stable and in good <br />condition at the time of the inspection. No erosional problems were noted on the <br />pad. The area has a good cover of vegetation including a large percentage of <br />shrubs. <br />- The reclaimed East Portal area remains stable. There did not appear to be any <br />cracking or slumping of the backfilled areas and no erosional problems were noted. <br />There is some vegetation growing on the reclaimed areas and they appear to be <br />similar to the surrounding areas. <br />- The recontoured area at the intersection of the haul road and County Road 64 <br />remains stable and in good condition. There is some vegetation growing at this time. <br />No erosional problems were noted with this area. <br />Air Resource Protection: -There were no problems with fugitive dust at the refuse piles, <br />on the haul road or on any of the other dirt roads at the site during the inspection. <br />Overall the Deserado Mine is in good condition and appears to be conducting <br />operations as required by the Rules and the Permit. <br />IV. ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS <br />
