III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the <br />inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a complete inspection, conducted by Joe Dudash and Tom Kaldenbach of Co. DMG. <br />Tom is a recent hire and will become DMG's specialist for the mine. Billy Nicholson represented <br />the operator on the first day of the inspection, Forrest Luke on the second day, and Ray Du Bois <br />on the third day. The mine site was starting to dry out from recent rains. <br />Roads <br />All of the roads were passable and in good shape, although the light use road to the Ute pond and <br />the light use road to the Johnson No. 7 pond could use some maintenance soon. <br />Sit=_ns and Markers <br />All of the mine ID signs were up and contained the correct information. Blasting notice signs <br />were also up. The operator is planning to repaint the permit boundary marker signs very soon. <br />Facilities <br />No problems were seen at the industrial storage site the office area, explosives storage site, waste <br />oil site and the anfo sites. <br />Topsoil <br />No erosional problems were observed at any of the topsoil stockpiles. Topsoil signs were up. The <br />operator is watching closely the topsoil pile just south of the A scraper pit, due to its nearness to <br />the slide in that pit. Grading work had been done in the slide azea to lessen the chances of further <br />sliding towards the topsoil pile. <br />SAE <br />The operator has installed silt fence at the former topsoil pile that is now an SAE, located in the <br />
