PUBLIC NOTICE
<br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety proposes to reduce the inspection frequency
<br />for the Coa] Basin Mine (Permit No. C-1981-017) to two inspections per yeaz.
<br />The Coal Basin Mine is a revoked/forfeited coal mine located in Pitkin County, 4 miles west of Redstone.
<br />The legal description of the mine site:
<br />Portions of Sections 31, 32, T9S, R89W;
<br />Portions of Sections 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 28, 29, 3Q T10S, R89W;
<br />Portions of Sections 1, 2, 11, 12, 13, 14, 23, 24, 25, T10S, R90W;
<br />Portions of Section 36, T9S, R90W.
<br />The permit azea encompassed approximately 11,380 acres. The surface disturbance azea covered 294
<br />acres which have been reclaimed.
<br />This decision is based on a complete inspection and a written finding as required by Rule 5.02.2(8)(a) of
<br />the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act, Section 34-33-101, et seg., C.R.S., and the
<br />regulations promulgated thereunder. Copies of the written finding aze on file for public inspection at the
<br />Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, Room 215, Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman
<br />Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, and at the County Clerk's Office in Pitkin County, 506 Main Street,
<br />Aspen, 81611. Persons with an interest that may be adversely affected by the proposed reduced
<br />inspection frequency may submit written comments to Sandra Brown within thirty (30) days of
<br />publication of this notice.
