III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during <br />the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the <br />facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was an aerial inspection of the King Coal Mine flown by Harry Ranney on March 24, 2005. Tom <br />Kaldenbach examined digital images on a computer monitor. <br />Ten photos were taken during the flyover; two representative photos aze shown below. The ground <br />appeared partially covered with snow. The site appeazs as it has in recent on-ground inspections. No <br />compliance problems are evident in the photos. <br />Processine Waste <br />The waste pile showed no evidence of instability. The face of the waste pile did not appear excessively <br />gullied. Diversion ditches extending from the top of the pile appeared in good condition. <br />General Mine Plan Comaliance <br />Ground surface disturbance appeazs to be confined to approved areas. No activity was evident at what <br />appears in the photos to be the old AML site east of the King Coal Mine. <br />Air Resource Protection <br />No dust problems were evident in the photos. <br />
