III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made
during the inspection. Comments also.describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection
and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was an aerial inspection of the Yoast Mine conducted by Harry Ranney of the DMG. Aerial
photographs were taken on February 25, 2004. The aerial photos were reviewed by Mike Boulay
of the DMG. Weather conditions were cloudy at the time of the flight. The majority of the mine
site was heavily covered in snow. No significant activity was noted at the site, during the aerial
inspection.
Haul Roads
Haul Roads A, B and D were viewed. Road ditches and road drainage runouts were snow
covered. Haul Roads A and B were mostly free of snow and appeaz to have been recently
graded. The site was generally well maintained and no problems were noted with this aerial
inspection of the mine.
Hvdroloeic Balance
Sedimentation Ponds 010, 012, 013, and 014 were viewed. All of these sedimentation ponds
were retaining water. But none of these ponds were dischazging at the time of the flight. The
pond surfaces all appear to be frozen. No problems were noted ai any of the pond locations.
