III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during
the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the
facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a complete inspection of the Hamilton Mine for the month of August, 2000.
RECORDS: Records were inspected and found to be satisfactory. See page 5 of this report for further
details.
ROADS: The section of road along the Area 1 access road of the mine is deteriorating due to vehicular
traffic during times when the road is muddy. Maintenance in the form of additional gravel or the
installation of water bars to drain the road will need to accomplished prior to the next
Complete inspection. All other sections of the road appear stable.
HYDROLOGIC BALANCE: All ditches and culverts are clear and capable of functioning as designed.
Pond A and B were dry at the time of the inspection.
RECLAMATION SUCCESS: The site's vegetation is doing well in most locations. The easterly portion
of the mine still continues to improve but is substantially less than the western side. The site is very
stable as far as erosion is concerned.
