Signs and boundary markers were in place as required by the Rules.
2. Approximately just over two acres were disturbed at this time, and sufficient topsoil was
stockpiled at: the site to complete reclamation at this time. Topsoil stockpiles were well-
vegetated with wheatgrase for cover.
3. The top third of the western and northern slopes had been graded, topeoiled and seeded.
The elopes were measured with the Abney Level, and they are adequately graded except for the
sharp northwe~et corner of the pit, which is eloped at about 2.6H:1V, and ie showing signs of
erosion (crac:king, sloughing). Erosion along the elopes ie visible, although a good cover
of vegetation is present; it ie suggested that another season's worth of reseeding may fix
most of the erosion problems. The NW corner will need re-grading or backfillinq in order
to fix the erosion and elope steepness there.
4. The operator wishes to expand the permit southward. A Conversion should be submitted to
add acreage to the permit. In addition, the mining plan calla for phased mining and
reclamation in stripe along the permit area. This is no longer feasible, according to the
operator, who has begun reclamation from the top of the pit elopes downward. Changes to the
mining plan should be submitted to document the change in operations, either in the proposed
Conversion or in a Technical Revision.
I & E Contact Addreee cc: Carl B.
