The site is an
essentially flat tract of land currently in agricultural use. Part of the site is
cultivated, with the remainder used to graze cattle.
Given that t:he reclamation plan calla for the creation of three lakes and associated
wetlands, there ie a great deal of surplus topsoil available at the site. The operator will
attempt to market the surplus topsoil, but mu et maintain sufficient topsoil stockpiled at the
site through the life of the pit to complete reclamation in accordance with the approved
plan.
There ie an underground communications cable and an underground gas pipeline running parallel
through the property from north to south. The operator has committed to a 200 foot set-back
from these f~aatures until a less restrictive agreement can be reached. The operator has
similarly convnitted to a set-back from the Fossil Creek Reservoir Outlet Ditch which runs
along the north edge of the property. There will be a 100 foot minimum set-back from the
Poudre River at all points.
Two irrigation tail water ditches enter the property from the west. The ditches combine in
the center of the site and discharge to the Poudre River to the east.
The only above ground structures observed on or near the site are some farm buildings owned
by Don Kehn Construction.
The Division has completed its adequacy review of the amendment application and will be
forwarding tt.e adequacy letter under separate cover.
I & E Contact Address Cc: Carl Mount, DMG
NAME
OPER
STRE
CITY
Don Kehn
Don Kehn Construction, Inc.
6322 S.
