III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on ihr: inspection. The comments include discussion of observations matle during the inspection. Comments <br />also describe any enforcercienf actions taken during the inspection and the facts of evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This inspection was conducted on 27 and 28 June 2005. Colowyo Coal Company, L.P. (Colowyo) representative <br />Crellin Scott (Scott) accompanied Byron G. Walker (Walker) during this inspection on 27 June 2005, and Kurtis <br />Blunt (Blunt) accompanied Walker on 28 June 2005. An inspection in-briefing was conducted with Scott and a <br />debriefing was conducted with $lunt and Tay Tonozzi of Colowyo. This report was prepared in, and issued from, the <br />Division of Minerals and Geology (Division) offices in Denver. Pictures included in the report are on electronic file <br />at the Division, and will be provided to Colowyo upon request. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS <br />See the attached records im~entory sheet. All required documents were found on file. <br />ROADS <br />Unpaved roads about the permit azea were in excellent shape. Haul road culverts M and K had silted back in to the <br />point where cleaning is due again. Frequent maintenance is required during periods of precipitation. The scoria <br />collection ditch at the road crossing was in excellent shape. The best management practice sediment traps along the <br />Taylor Creek Road were functioning well and were in good repair. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE <br />Colowyo reported that there had been a lot of rain this spring. Good Spring Creek was flowing stained, but not <br />murky. All impoundments were in good repair.
