Box 55
Oak Creek, CO 80467
County: Routt
Inspection Date: September 12, 1984
Type of Operation: Underground, federal
Inspector: Anne Baldrige, Joe Oliver
Weather: Partly cloudy, cool
Time: 11:00 a.m.
Type of Inspection: Partial
Operator Contact: David Canning
I. General Comments
The mine is back in operation after being idle since May. Coal was being
hauled.
The upstream Trout Creek continuous flow monitoring station was examined. The
operator was concerned because this spring's flooding had caused some
significant changes in this portion of the channel making the data collected
at this point questionable. The operator will need to either re-establish
this site or request a technical revision for a change to the approved
monitoring program. It was noted that a significant amount of disturbance
would result from re-establishing this site and the operator has a pygmy meter
on site to record flow data at the time of water quality sampling.
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
