111. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during the <br />inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the facts or <br />evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />On September 15, 1998, William J. Carter(Division of Minerals and Geology) accompanied by Mark Milner, and <br />Tom Anderson, representing Oxbow Mining, Inc. performed a partial inspection of the Sanborn Creek Mine. The <br />weather was clear and wane during the inspection. <br />Suns and Markers: <br />All signs observed contained the proper information and were in the proper location. <br />Ro <br />The roads throughout the mine site were found to be in very good condition during this inspection. <br />Hydrologic Balance: <br />• Pond A was dry during this inspection. <br />• Pond B contained water just short of the primary discharge pipe. <br />• Pond C was dry during the inspection. <br />• The east yard pond contained at most, two inches of water. <br />• The mine pond continues to dischazge cleaz water. <br />• The pond at substation three was dry at the time of this inspection. <br />• The sedimentation pond remains dry. <br />• The silt screens along the entrance road need to be cleaned. <br />• Ditches and culverts are generally in good functional condition. <br />3tevegetation: <br />The revegetation at both Beaz Creek and Lower Hubbazd Creek sites is progressing and shows <br />significant improvement since last month. <br />Others: <br />The weeds observed through the mine site show good results from weed control efforts. Significant phenoxy <br />symptoms are visible on all weeds observed. Thank you for your continued efforts at this tedious job. <br />
