1
7 ~ ~ (Page 2) •
MINE ID S OR PP.OSPECTING ID N M-79-191
INSPECTION DATE 4/12/99 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS CLti
OBSER'!A'r'IONS
Following a complaint that the Operator is not following the current reclamation plan, DMG
did a follow-up inspection of the site, and observed the following:
1) Signs and boundary markers are in place as required by the Rules.
2) The southern portion of the site has been mined and is almost completely reclaimed. No
further work in this area is anticipated.
3) Topsoil (20' wide, 10') has been stored along the entire southern boundary, and will
remain there as a visual berm. Another smaller stockpile (15' wide, 4' high) is still in
place along the west boundary, and will require a technical revision to be left after
reclamation. All other topsoil has been replaced across the site.
4) The lake is low right now, and it is clear that the slopes have been graded to 3H:1V.
Some minor dressing around the island may be necessary to meet the 3H:1V slope requirements
but no other steep areas were noted. The rest of the site has been graded flat.
5) No materials stockpiles remain on the site.
6) The northern and central areas of the site remain undisturbed and have not been mined. At
this time, reclamation in the areas which have already been mined is consistent with the
current reclamation plan and purpose (wildlife/recreation area). No evidence of residential
development exists at the site at this time.
The Operator is reminded that should there be plans to change the approved end-land-use for
this site prior to the release of the financial surety, an Amendment would have to be filed
with DMG. CurrenC reclamation work is consistent with the filed plan at this time, however.
DMG is not responsible for the use of the site after the reclamation work has been approved
and released.
I ~ E Contact Address
NAME Bill Liebbrandt
OPERATOR Lafaroe Inc.
STREET 1590 W. 12th Ave
CZTY/STATE/2IP Denver, CO 80204
cc: Carl 8.
