Please note
that this is the same map that was used for our most recent amendment (dated 8/5/01) [hat states that these
ponds are subject to change as mining changes may dictate. The location of the cuttent ponds better control
the flow of storm water do to the change in mining. The ponds will continue to follow the direction of
mining. I think that you will see that the capacity of the ponds that are cuttently in place are far more
sufficient than what is needed for the required containment during the 2 year 24 hour event.
We have done some additional work [o insure [hat these ponds are working very well. In addition
we continue to back slope all of the benches and over blast benches so that storm water can penetrate the
surface area of the quarry. Please review the information that we have submitted and advise us if we need
to do anything further to address these issues.
Si/n~cerely,
V
Tom Smith
Director of Quarry Operations
Rocky Mountain Materials & Asphalt Inc.
473-3100 • Fax
