The Murdock Pit was inspected ae part of the Division's I&E Program.
2. The Murdock Pit ie permitted for 9.2 acres of disturbance. The post-mining land use is
agricultural. Approximately 4.5 scree are currently disturbed, within the boundaries of the
permit area.
3. An entrance sign has been posted and the permit boundaries have been marked. However,
some of the permit boundary markers were difficult to locate and/or see. The operator was
advised to clearly mark the permit boundary in order that all disturbance will remain within
the permitted area.
4. There did not appear to be any sizeable volume of topsoil available for salvage at this
site. The operator should be prepared to use the beet available material, such ae fine Band
overburden, ae a suitable seedbed during final reclamation. Consideration should also be
given to application of soil amendments such as cow manure and crimped mulch to enhance the
success of revegetation.
I & E Contact Addreee
NAME J.D.
