III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made during <br />the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the inspection and the <br />facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a complete inspection conducted by Tom Kaldenbach of the Colorado Division of Minerals <br />and Geology. Dave Andrews brought the records to the site and represented the operator. The <br />ground was dry and vegetation is turning green. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS <br />All required records were available (see attached list). <br />SIGNS AND MARKERS <br />The mine i.d. sign was properly displayed at the entrance to the site. <br />ROADS <br />Roads along the west and southeast perimeter of Mining Area No. 1 were in good shape. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE <br />The upper pond (Pond A) was dry. Pond B held a small pool of water several feet below the elevation <br />of the 6-inch diameter PVC pipe that is the primary spillway. Pond embankments, inslopes, primary <br />spillway pipes, and rock lined emergency spillways appeared in good condition. <br />RECLAMATION SUCCESS <br />Vegetative cover is in good shape in the reclaimed pit area. No problems were found on the site. The <br />photo below shows revegetation in Mining Area No. 1 where the pit was located. <br />
