(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-2000-099
INSPECTION DATE 07/21/06 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS ESC
OH98RVATIONB
This was an inspection of the Pit Number One conducted by Erica Crosby of the Division of
Minerals and Geology. Marilyn and Bruce Diamond were present during the inspection.
The Rock Pit Number One is located approximately 3 miles southeast of Buena Vista in Chaffee
County Colorado. The permit was issued on February 9, 2001 for a permit area of 9.61 acres.
The Division holds a financial warranty in the amount of $14,000.00.
A mine identification sign has been posted at the entrance to the Bite. Markers were noted
that delineate the permit area. The area is actively being mined by the operator. Mining is
currently taking place on the north end of the pit. The pit ie approximately 10 feet deep,
but mining may continue to a depth of 35 feet. No exposure of groundwater was noted. Rock
piles were placed slightly outside of the permit area on the eastern side of the permit area.
The operator started moving the pile within the permit area prior to the end of the
inspection. The operator should be reminding to keep all mining related activity within the
approved permit boundaries.
No topsoil piles were noted on site. The operator stated that the south end of the permit
area contains more topsoil than the northern area, and will be salvaged for final
distribution over the entire site. The operator will need to ensure that enough topsoil will
be salvaged to reclaim the site to a depth of 4•• to 8" inches.
I & 8 Contact Address
^ CE
NAME Marilyn & Bruce Diamond ^ BL
OPERATOR
STREET 26520 CR 301 p HW
CITY/STATE/ZIP Buena Vista, Colorado 81211 ^ HMWMD (CH)
^ SE
^ WQCD (CH)
cc: Carl Mount; DMG
