Neurohr, Geologist for C.G.R.S., Ft. Collins, Colorado, is overseeing the
removal and mapping of exi>?nt of Diesel fuel contamination at the location as referenced
in your report. To deteirrtline the extent and effects of the contamination, the fuel tank
was emptled and removed, showing no signs of leakage. The underlying and
surrounding contaminatied sons were excavated and sampled with a photo ionization
detector to determine the extent of contamination. No groundwal~r contamination is
evident as the depth appears clean at approximately 9.0+. feet. Firth samples from the
sidewalls to the bottom of the final extracted area were taken for lab analysis for diesel to
assure the extent of all contaminated soils was attained. The removed soils were placed
temporarily on a concrete tarmac in front of the shop until final dispositlon and
remediation can be established and approved by the Division. C.G.R.S.'s report will follow
this correspondence. We are keeping the hole open and the removed materials available
fnr your inspection.
Part 2 (Page 4): As requested under Part 2 Option (3), following are tl7ree notarized statements
from the referenced utilities lndlcatlng 'no negatlve effect' from our continued operations
as proposed. Hard mples will be forwarded to the Division for inclusion into the proposed
20x3 Amendment.
We trust this satisfies the possible problems expressed in the Division's Inspection report, understanding
that the necessary follow-up is continuing respectlve of Part i.
-Fin-
