(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID # M-2006-081
INSPECTION DATE 03/01/2007
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS DEG
This pre-operational inspection of Permit Number M-2006-081 (Big "G"Gravel Pit), conducted by Deb E. G6nima of the DRMS,
was prompted by a request from the operator for approval of a new 112(c) permit. Owner and operator Daniel Gaudreault and
consultant Jae Gagliano were present during this inspection.
The notice sign was posted and proposed permit boundaries were clearly marked. Photos documenting historical mining
activity are included with this report for posterity (see photo 4). In addition, photos were taken to document the state of natural
vegetation at this site. The majority of the site consisted of 50 to 65% vegetative cover at a maximum (see photos 5-6). The site
is currently stable, and there has been no proposed long-term (greater than 72 hours) water retention for this site. As a matter
of record, this inspector was told that no trees (mainly cottonwoods that line the northern extent of the proposed permit
boundary) would be removed as an impact ofmining-related activities.
The following concern of the Superintendent of the High Line Canal Company was addressed during this inspection, as well.
With regard to mining in proximity to the canal, it is the Division's understanding that extraction activity will be no closer than
approximately 25 feet from the canal, and that a backhoe excavator will be used to drag back material (from north to south)
from the canal area to preclude any loose material from rolling into the canal.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Deb E. GOnima at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
Denver Office, 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203, phone number 303-866-4179.
I & E Contact Address
NAME
OPERATOR
STREET
CITY/STATE/ZIP
Mr. Daniel Gaudreault
DBA Bia "G" Gravel Pit
P.O.
