ORIGINAL -PUBLIC FILE <br />(Page 2) <br />MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: nn-1985-I~e <br />INSPECTION DATE: U~~inS INSPECTOROS INITIALS: -BIC- <br />OBSERVATIONS <br />The Division conducted a monitoring inspection of the site as part of sites <br />to be inspected during the fiscal years 2004-2005. The site is active112 <br />sand and gravel operation located approximately a mile South of Elizabeth <br />Colorado. The total permitted acreage as amended in 2002 is 100 acres. <br />Approximately 10 acres appeared to have been disturbed. High walls appeared <br />stable. Drainage from the pit active faces of the mine drain towards the <br />pit floor. A front end loader and dozer working the active face area, at <br />the time of the inspection. A small amount of water from snowmelt was noted <br />in the pit floor. According to the Operator, they try to mine the site at a <br />3:1 slope when ever possible, to cut down on the backfill and grading <br />during reclamation. A small amount of processed material was noted along <br />the East side of the pit floor. Top soil piles properly protected and <br />stable. There was also a small amount of mulch stockpiled along the North <br />East side of the permit area to be utilized when reclamation commences. <br />According to the operator, once mining is completed in the 10 acres, <br />reclamation will commence. There were two diesel fuel tanks, completely <br />encapsulated located in the bone yard area. Permit boundary markers and <br />signs properly posted. <br />I & E Contact Address <br />NAME: MR.
