(Page 2) <br />MINE ID ~ OR PROSPECTING ID # M-1978-002 <br />INSPECTION DATE 6/30/04 INSPECTOR'S INITIALS ESC <br />OHSBRVATION3 <br />This was an inspection of the Texas Creek Gravel Pit conducted by Erica Crosby and Carl <br />Mount of the Division of Minerals and Geology. Stan Rasemussen of Rio Blanco County was <br />present during the inspection. <br />The site is located 22 miles south of Rangely in Rio Blanco County, Colorado. An 110c <br />permit was issued on February 23, 1978. The pit is located in a remote area, and the <br />gravel extracted from the site is used to serve the needs of Rio Blanco County Road and <br />Bridge in road repair and surfacing. Amine identification sign was posted at the <br />entrance to the site, and permit boundary markers were identified. <br />No mining was taking place during the inspection. Rio Blanco County can mine an <br />additional 20 feet to the fenceline, but beyond that point is land within the Wilderness <br />Study Area. The mined slopes are between 2h:ly and 3h:ly. A topsoil pile is present on <br />the top end of the pit.
