General Mine Plan Comuliance
The mine operator is progressing towazd completing the reclamation plan.
ReveEetation
The August 2006 inspection report found that on the azeas reclaimed in summer 2006, drill seeding
appeazed to have been conducted on flat-lying azeas and broadcast seeding appeared to have been
comp on steeper slopes. All seeded azeas had been covered with a few inches of straw mulch which
did not appeaz to have been crimped. During the current bond release inspection, the reclaimed areas
were covered with a dense crop of grass that has grown since the August 2006 inspection. Live cover
in most places appeared greater than 40%. The operator's representative reported the grass is a sterile
wheaUoat hybrid called Regreen. This dense cover crop appeazs to have effectively protected slopes
from erosion during the previous two months when local precipitation was near average, according to
data on the Western Regional Climate Center website.
Reclamation Success
With the exceptions of the items listed in Table 1, above, and the removal of equipment from the
Equipment Storage Area, the bond release azea appeared qualified for Phase I bond release.
Revegetated areas appeared to be progressing toward Phase II bond release, and overall, the site
appeared to be progressing towazd supporting the approved postmining land uses.
12
