~ ~~~ n~ ~ <br />Hydrologic Balance (cont.): -Pond DP-1 contained water at a level just below the <br />discharge pipe. Part of the pond was frozen. The pond embankment was well <br />vegetated and appeared to be stable. There were no erosional problems on the <br />pond embankment. The emergency spillway was well maintained and stable. <br />-The roadside ditches along the mine access road and the haul road to the refuse <br />pile appeared to be stable and well maintained. <br />Processing Waste: -Refuse Pile RP-2/3/4 was not being actively worked at the time of <br />the inspection. The pile was covered with snow at the time of the inspection; <br />however, no problems were noted with respect to the pile. <br />- The Operator has begun stockpiling refuse on pile RP-5a. The stockpile is in the <br />same place it was last year, on the southeast portion of the pile. The pile was <br />covered with snow at the time of the inspection. Due to the wet weather, there were <br />no problems with fugitive dust. <br />Support Facilities: -The pad and area around return shaft RS-3 was stable and <br />showed no signs of erosional problems at the time of the inspection. <br />-The recently regraded ad area of return shaft RS-1 also appeared to be stable at <br />the time of the inspection. Scott indicated that the area had been seeded several <br />weeks earlier. <br />-The B-Vent shaft area was stable and in good condition at the time of the <br />inspection. <br />
