G,-~'~ ~7tlyt. OS p.~:.;:.;3E F..__..; .. This gravel pit is located on the north side of Highway 160 about 1/2 mile east of the intersection of Highway 160 and Highway 550. We feel C and J is in violation of their mined land reclamation permit for the following reasons: 1. The property has been mined with a vertical bank up to the property line (and in some cases beyond) of 75 to 100 feet high. 2. Assuming the permit calls for slopes of 2:1 or 3:1, there is absolutely no fill material available to construct these slopes and satisfy the requirements of the mined land reclamation permit. 3. We feel C and J has no intention of fulfilling their obli- gation to reclaim this pit. This would be a disservice to the citizens of the state and to the other gravel operators who accept the responsibility and cost of reclaiming their gravel pits. We would also like to point out that there are a number of other sand and gravel operators in the area that do not even have mined land reclamation permits. We would request an examination of this situation. In summary, we the undersigned do not feel this gravel pit can or will be reclaimed by C and J and request the Board inspect this operation and take whatever actions are necessary under the mined land reclamation act.
