• (Page 2) •
r MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: M-i98n-~aa
INSPECTION DATE: »-~ "~-nn INSPECTORS INITIALS: ~l~
The Division conducted a monitoring and highway relocation construction progress inspection of the site on 12-13-00.
Present during the inspection was Mr. Phil Barnes of CC&V. In anticipation of highway 67 relocation, topsoil relocation was
continuing, from the main storage area North of the ARD building to the South and East of the present location, as
approved in Amendment # 8. Inspected the toe dam area. The underdrain discharge has been extended with pipes to
the second pond. This will allow a larger area to work on during the bridge construction. Bridge Piers #2 and 3 were
partially in place. A couple of temporary cranes were located in the area, one at the toe dam area and another near the
pier # 2 area. No problem noted. While in the area, the following readings were taken from the High and Low volume
transducers.
LOW VODUME PUMP # 1 READ, .12 FEET OF HEAD, PUMP # 2 READ .11 FEET OF HEAD. HIGH VOLUME PUMP # 4
TRANCDUCER WAS STILL NOT FUNCTIONING, # 5 READ 33.0 FEET OF HEAD, # 6 READ 33.8 FEET OF HEAD.
According to Mr. Barnes, new permit boundary markers were being placed and should be completed sometime this spring.
Inspected the Arequa Gulch Waste storage area where under the Amendment # 8 approval, the operator was going to
construct a large storm water storage pond with a capacity of between 7 to 9 acre feet. Mr. Barnes stated that instead of
one big pond, CC&V might want to build three series ponds with the same total capacity and affected acreage. He was
informed that the Division would not object to the change as long as the appropriate maps are provided showing the
capacity of each pond. He agreed to provide the appropriate designs when they are finalized.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: MR.
