Box 105
Dixon, California 95620
OF' f0[O
Nc
R~~
~ r8 T6 ~
Roy Romer
Governor
Michael 8. Long
Drv~sion Director
Rfi: Hillyer Pit, Permit No. M-82-011, Enclosed Bond Recalculation
Dear Mr. Fielding:
Subsequent to our phone conversation regarding your recalculated
reclamation bond and your written request for an extension of the
financial warranty due date, the Division has revised your
recalculated bond amount. The costs for disposal of the items
associated with the cement plant have been removed. These costs
will be incorporated back into the bond amount if these items are
not removed from the Hillyer Pit site by June 16, 1995.
The permit states that a maximum of five acres will be affected at
any one time within the permit area. Because approximately three
acres of this five acres is a facilities area that was a pre-mine
gravel area and will not require any grading or other reclamation,
The regrading included in task one has been reduced to include only
the two acre gravel recharge borrow area within the river channel
flood plain.
Reclamation of the site to a condition as described in your
approved permit would require disposal of all waste materials,
scrap metal and non-functional equipment and structures. Due to
the distance of the operation from any market for scrap metal, the
worth of this material is questionable and bond is therefore
required for its disposal.
Division policy requires that recalculated bond amounts be
submitted within sixty days after operator receipt of the original
recalculated bond. Under certain circumstances, the deadline can
be extended for an additional sixty days. Therefore, adequate
Financial Warranty in the amount of $12,116.00 must be submitted to
the Division by March 31,1994. Please contact our office to obtain
the proper Financial Warranty forms which must be completed and
submitted with the required bond amount.
Again, if you feel that any of these calculation are incorrect, or
if you can supply any additional detailed information that may
affect this recalculated bond amount, please contact our office
immediately.
