(Page 2)
MINE ID # OR PROSPECTING ID #: Mn Q77-i R7
INSPECTION DATE: Aiiguct t, ~nro INSPECTORS INITIALS: GRS
This was apre-operational inspection done in response to an Amendment application to add 48.46 acres to the
current42.75 acre permit area. There is a Permit ID sign posted at the entrance to the mine, and the current permit
boundaries are well marked with posts and signs. The amendment application area has not been physically marked, but
is easily identified by existing fences, roads and other landmarks. At the time of this inspection stockpiled material on the
pit floor was being loaded and removed from the site.
The first part of the inspection consisted of a general tour of the existing permitted site. It was noted that the large berm
of overburden material was still present along the north side of the pit area. This is not a problem, but will require a large
part of the current bond amount to move and regrade this material. It was also noted that a Permit ID sign had been
posted and Permit Boundary Markers were in place. This resolves the problems noted in the Division's September 11,
1996 and September 19, 2000 inspection reports. After inspecting the current permit area, the proposed amendment
area was visited. The proposed boundaries were identified and the proposed mining and reclamation plans were
reviewed on-site.
The inspector did not identify any on-site problems which would preclude the approval of the permit amendment
application..
Cc: Carl Mount - DMG, Via electronic transmission
Greg Lewiki -Greg Lewicki and Associates
I & E Contact Address
NAME:
OPERATOR: United Companies of Mesa Countv
STREET: 27346 Highway 6 & 24
CIiY/STATE/ZIP: Rifle CO 8]650
cc ^ CE
^ BL
^ FS
^ HW
^ HMWMD (CH)
^ SE
^ WQCD (CH)
^ OTHER
