Carter, representing the Division of Minerals and Geology
performed a partial inspection of the Ohio Creek number 2 mine site. The weather was clear and
warm, but the site was still 98% snow covered.
Roads:
The county road into the site, and the turnaround area were cleazed of snow. The road was also
observed to be in generally good condition.
Hydrologic Balance:
No water was observed in the sedimentation pond or the collection ditch.
Backfill and Grading;
• Some very minor, and expected settling was observed on the south facing slope of the
turnaround area.
• The reminder of the site was covered with snow. However, no noticeable settling was
observed. The existing snow may be masking some minor settling.
Topsoil:
The topsoil pile continues to remain stable
Slides and Damase:
No slides or slumping was observed on the site during this inspection.
