III. COMMENTS - COMPLIANCf~~
~` I ~b Mo- o ~ ~d>
Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations
made during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during
the inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action.
This was a partial inspection of the Hayden Gulch Mine conducted by Jim Stark of
CDMG. The mine has gone through a Phase I and Phase II Bond Release on all but
approximately nine acres. The weather was cool and overcast and there was snow
on the ground on the north-facing slopes.
The access road to shrub parcels HG-OS and E and the 1997 slump area was
inaccessible at the time of the inspection due to the large amount of snow still piled
up at the entrance from the winter's plowing operations. Parcel HG-08 was,
however, visible from the road. The parcel was covered with snow but appeared to
be stable. There was water in the pond but it was not discharging (and it is no longer
a part of the permit area).
Shrub parcel 003 was partly covered (about'/< of the area) with snow at the time of
the inspection. The areas that were visible appeared to be well vegetated and
stable. There did not appear to be any erosional problems at the parcel from runoff
from the melting snow. Pond 003 contained water but it was not discharging (and it
is no longer a part of the permit area).
Only the lower portion (bottom 100 feet) of the light use road at parcel 003 to the two
exploration holes was visible at the time of the inspection. It appeared to be stable
and in good condition. The rest of the road and the two drill pad sites were not
accessible due to the mud.
