:~ <br />III. COMMENTS -COMPLIANCE <br />Below are comments on the inspection. The comments include discussion of observations made <br />during the inspection. Comments also describe any enforcement actions taken during the <br />inspection and the facts or evidence supporting the enforcement action. <br />This was a partial inspection conducted by Tom Kaldenbach of the Colorado Division of <br />Minerals and Geology. No one else was present during the inspection. <br />Only patches of snow remained on the site <br />entrance gates were locked. <br />Vegetation had not yet begun greening up. Both <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE <br />Sedimentation Ponds - Both ponds have thawed. Only HG-8 is discharging; the discharge rate <br />was estimated at 30gpm. The discharge was clear. The water level in pond 003 was <br />approximately 1 foot below the spillway culvert. Inslopes and embankments of both ponds <br />appeared stable. <br />FISH AND WILDLIFE <br />The following wildlife was spotted: a porcupine near the Upper Hayden Gulch surface water <br />monitoring site, 9 antelope on the permanent spoil pile, and several ducks on pond HG-8. <br />Page 3 <br />
